The Maharshi Dayanand University located in Rohatak and established in the year 1976. This is a open university. MDU was come under an act of the Haryana legislative assembly in 1976.
The MDU has 13 faculties and 27 PG departments and 77 accedmic programs. The MDU has also two other satellite campuses: a National Law College and a Regional center. This university also provide UG and PG degree courses in different fields such as technology, research science, commerce, Arts,, management. This university also provides postgraduate diploma courses, diploma degree courses.
The Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU) gives distance education programs in different fields and held many exam in different fields. The admission to the courses covered annual scheme (in the month of July/August) and semester scheme (July and January month ) and online scheme in this university. Admissions under the online scheme shall be made four times in a year, i.e. in the months of January, April, July and October every year to the courses as notified from time to time by the Directorate of Distance Education.
